A ten year project shot on a film point and shoot camera that always fit in a jacket pocket. Fifteen frames from the places I passed through, from a small Lithuanian town to Peru, Morocco, South Africa and California.
This summer I opened the archive planning technical work: review, scan, select. Instead every negative brought back a memory and one question, who was I when I pressed the button. The person who took these pictures five and ten years ago did not know that he would look at them again so changed, or that the eye which kept looking for lines and light would grow beyond photography, into space, interiors and finally a gallery.
A point and shoot has two buttons, everything else is the photographer's eye. With control taken away only intuition is left: to see the light, the line and the moment faster than it passes. Photography starts with form and the feeling that form creates, the rest is technique.
